The Vehicle Group (TVG) has appointed Mervyn McIntyre as its new managing director.

McIntyre has more than 30 years’ commercial experience and before joining TVG he was national transport and support manager at Next where he was responsible for its national transport, planning and commercial fleet operations, with a fleet of 1,500 assets at eight operating centres.

The appointment follows a period of expansion which has seen Colburn-based TVG grow to 92 employees and an £8.5 million annual turnover.

The company is in the process of opening a new 4,500 sq m office extension to house their engineering, research and development, and Innovation team, making them better able to meet customer needs.

This new facility will house the latest automotive manufacturing technology including 3D printers, a graphics printer and four vehicle bays for specialised conversions.

TVG is also in the early stages of planning a 2.6-acre purpose built commissioning centre capable of housing up to 300 panel vans.

McIntyre said: “It is an exciting point at which to join the company.

"My job is to consolidate the progress that has been made and to take TVG forward, driving business improvement over the coming months and years.”

McIntyre will be directly responsible for all aspects of TVG, including providing a seamless, customer focused service, to new and existing customers.
