Mercedes-Benz Vans is supporting the Freight Transport Association (FTA) Van Excellence operational briefings for the second year running.

Drivers and people are the main focus of the briefings, covering strategies and processes for reducing risk and the impact of shortfalls.

This year, the three briefings takes place tomorrow (Tuesday, April 5) at The Nottingham Belfry Hotel, Nottingham, April 7, at Mercedes-Benz World, Weybridge Surrey and April 14 at Westerwood Hotel and Golf Resort near Glasgow.

Andy Eccles (pictured), head of business development, Mercedes-Benz Vans, will be delivering the sponsors address for the operational briefings. He said: “This is a hugely important topic for our customers, and as such, we are delighted to be supporting these FTA Van Excellence events for the second year.

“We work very much in partnership with our customers and we know that compliance is a hot topic in their businesses, so by helping fleets to explore operational best practice, whether they are an existing Van Excellence member, or an operator keen to know where to begin, is something we are proud to support.”

Mark Cartwright, FTA’s Head of Vans, said: “The Van Excellence Operational Briefings provide practical, informative and essential advice from operators, experts and enforcers, and provides attendees peace of mind surrounding the operation of their van fleet.

“The 2016 events take a closer look at the way drivers’ actions can impact on how a fleet operation works, and will reflect on how planning and consideration can improve the way they work and the image of the van driver here in the UK.

“The FTA Van Excellence scheme is an industry-led initiative that aims to enhance standards of van operator compliance; the people who have attend the briefings realise how important compliance is considered, and recognise that if as an industry we work together we can improve standards to achieve that.”

One free place is available to the Van Excellence Governance Group, Van Excellence accredited operators and Guide to Van Excellence subscribers.

The cost of further places and for all other delegates is £50 plus VAT per delegate, or ten places for £200. For further information or to book a place click here, or call the FTA member service centre on 03717 11 22 22.
