Renault Trucks has announced that 40% of its heavy vehicle registrations in 2015 were activated with its fleet management solution, Optifleet.

Introduced with a 12-month free-of-charge subscription including two key modules, Optifleet Check and Optifleet Map, the offer was taken up on nearly 1,000 Range T, Range C and Range K registrations.

Optifleet has been developed to boost a fleet’s profitability, allowing operators to monitor, measure and improve fuel consumption and driver behaviour.

Nigel Butler, commercial director, Renault Trucks UK, said: “We are delighted to see so many of our customers taking our telematics solution to help with their day-to-day operations and reduce operating costs."

He added: “Despite recent welcome reductions in fuel prices, fuel is still a fleet’s largest single expense and by investing in a system that measures vehicle fuel data and driver behaviour, our customers have the tools to make substantial improvements in their cost base.

"The great news is that a large proportion of our customers have made the choice to share this fuel data with their Renault Trucks dealer who can proactively support them with further advice and training."
