Whitehead Building Services orders 33 Mercedes-Benz Citan vans

Whitehead Building Services Mercedes-Benz Citans

Whitehead Building Services has ordered 33 Mercedes-Benz Citan vans following a fast response to a tender document.

The vehicles, 109 CDI models, were supplied by South Wales Dealer Euro Commercials and are the subject of contract hire agreements.

Most are long-bodied versions although the line-up also includes seven compacts and a couple of extra-longs.

Whitehead Building Services provides a full range of mechanical, electrical and management/maintenance solutions.

From its Newport-base, the company designs, installs, tests/commissions, manages and maintains buildings across the UK.

The company had previously leased a variety of vehicles, most recently from independent specialists. But with the business growing strongly, it resolved to take a fresh look at its fleet arrangements.

Gavin Thomas, managed services manager at Whitehead Building Services, said: “We emailed our tender request to four suppliers and from the outset Euro Commercials’ response was the most professional.

“In fact, throughout the process the Mercedes-Benz team have bent over backwards to provide all we’ve needed and more.”

Whitehead Building Services has assigned its long and extra-long Citans, some of which are crew vans with second rows of seats, to maintenance staff working nationwide.
