Dawsonrentals Vans has launched its Vanta Claus campaign, with its Santa-inspired vehicle delivering groceries to food banks across the country.

The van features bright neon lights and Christmas-themed wrap, and, alongside its tour of the UK, the business will raise money for FareShare, a charity that is fighting hunger in the UK by tackling food waste.

A JustGiving FareShare page has been set up in parallel where every £1 donated generates four meals.

Gareth Jones, managing director at Dawsonrentals Vans, said: “We wanted to give a little back throughout December by donating food to local food banks and generating funds for food waste champions, FareShare.

"We can’t wait for Vanta to start its journey and hope that it will grab the attention of the public while out on the road encouraging people to go the extra mile and get involved.”

Caley Eldred, director of fund raising at FareShare said, “We are thrilled to be the chosen charity for the Vanta Claus campaign.

"FareShare currently provides nearly 8,000 tonnes of food to help feed over 167,000 people every week, and it’s great to get the support of Dawsonrentals Vans to enable us to do more.”

Vanta will deliver to food banks in Cardiff, Doncaster, Ipswich, Milton Keynes, Newcastle, Reading and Skelmersdale.
