Ryder is strengthening its sales and business development teams with a number of strategic appointments, including Mary Parker who takes up the new role of national rental sales manager, North.

Parker has spent her entire career in the transport sector, mainly in sales and business development roles, as well as operations. 

Now based at Newhouse, Ryder’s Glasgow location, she will be responsible for developing rental sales across Scotland and the North of England, focusing on supporting national fleets and building relationships with new and existing customers.

In a career dedicated to trucks, she has worked for a several transport companies as well as a major retailer and has clocked up broad experience of sales and operations.

“I have a real passion for the industry and thrive on the fast moving pace of truck rental,” she said. “Every day brings new challenges and opportunities. After gaining my CPC in road haulage very early in my career, there was no stopping me.”

She continued: “Joining Ryder, an independent company with strong financial backing, large fleet and global reputation in truck and trailer leasing, was a huge attraction for me.

“I’ve always been intrigued by Ryder’s strong reputation in the market place and, since joining the company, have been really impressed by the level of teamwork, support and liaison between all departments.

“I’m very excited at the prospect of offering customers new Euro 6 vehicles, which range from 3.5 to 44 tonnes, along with Ryder’s new refrigerated trailers.”
