Launceston-based DB Distribution has commissioned 11 new Mercedes-Benz Sprinters.

TheSprinter 310 CDI vans – seven Mediums and four Longs – have been supplied by City West Commercials, with competitive funding support from Mercedes-Benz Financial Services.

Most of the new vans wear the colours of global parcels delivery specialist FedEx, for which DB Distribution is contracted to cover the Launceston, Plymouth and Tavistock areas, and are working flat out in the run-up to Christmas.

“It doesn’t matter whether you’re talking about engineering integrity, running costs, safety features or brand image, Mercedes-Benz vans are rightly viewed as the pinnacle so we’re delighted once again to be running vehicles bearing the three-pointed star,” enthused Rob Berryman.

“Our new Sprinters look fantastic when lined-up together, while the drivers love them for their comfort and quality. As a company that’s always conscious of our Duty of Care obligations to staff and other road users, we’re also reassured by the fact that Mercedes-Benz vans are the safest on the road.”

The new fleet will be maintained under a three-year Mercedes-Benz ServiceCare contract by the workshop team at City West Commercials’ Roche depot, who will undertake routine, annual services during evenings.

“The dealer will collect the vehicles from us after 5pm then return them ready for work next day,” continued Berryman.

“This will be a big benefit, as will its offer of a free courtesy vehicle should the need arise.

“City West’s van sales executive Gemma Gagan clearly understands our industry and the fact that we need our vehicles to be out on the road and earning at all times. She was impressively tenacious in her determination to win the order for our new fleet.”
