Victory Group, a waste collection firm who service the entire M25 region, implemented the GPS vehicle tracking system from Fleetmatics to help better manage and improve efficiency of its ever growing fleet.
“We decided to implement the GPS vehicle tracking system from Fleetmatics to help us manage our team more effectively,” explains Alessandro Maccioni, managing director, Victory Group.
“We use the web-based software as an ‘organisational tool’ and it has taken away many of the problems often associated with mobile fleets.”
Mr. Maccioni regularly uses the Fleetmatics GPS fleet tracking mobile App to monitor customer queries and ETAs.
“With the Fleetmatics mobile App, I’m able to retrieve any information on my smartphone regardless of my location. It’s great to be kept up to date with all the latest customer queries that come through and be able to respond to them accordingly."
Victory Group has Garmin integration installed in its Fleetmatics GPS tracking system, which enables the firm to communicate with its drivers and avoid having to call them when they are on the road. “Being able to communicate with our drivers on the road without having to call them on their mobile phones avoids putting them at risk,” said Maccioni.
Additionally, the firm can now schedule routes for the following day and add in an extra job to a given location while en route.
“Thanks to the ‘Live fleet’ function in the Fleetmatics fleet tracking system, we’re able to see exactly how long a driver has taken to do a particular job, and offer them an alternative route in heavy traffic situations,” he added.
Another beneficial feature used by the waste collection firm is the ‘Fleet Maintenance’ alerts function. “This feature is incredibly useful as we use it to schedule service alerts for our fleet, such as tyre changes, engine servicing, etc."
