Auto Styling Truckman, the Midlands-based 4x4 accessories provider, has achieved an 11% increase in turnover benefiting from the rise in UK sales of commercial vehicles.

The company, which manufactures hard top units for pick-up trucks and sells a wide range of vehicle accessories to trade and retail customers, has reported sales of £7million for its latest financial year, which ended in August 2013.

This year also marked the completion of a £375,000 investment in additional facilities close to Auto Styling Truckman’s existing operation in Brierley Hill, which has enabled the company to grow its workforce by 30%.  The company currently employs 39 members of staff and aims to increase its headcount to 50 by the end of their next financial year.

Auto Styling Truckman’s expansion has also led to a 70% increase in the company’s stock capacity. The ability to accommodate more stock, now allows the company to offer a wider range of accessories and supply these accessories faster, which has improved customer service and order-turnaround times.

Mike Wheeler, managing director of Auto Styling Truckman, said: “We are definitely seeing the benefit of an upturn in the economy. The increase in commercial vehicle sales, which includes pick-up trucks, is an indicator of economic growth.

“Our pick-up truck hard tops are used in industries associated with developing the country’s infrastructure such as construction. These sectors are experiencing increased activity, which is leading to them investing in their operations including their vehicle fleets."
