The van and truck market remained stable in June, dipping 0.4% to 25,864 registrations, rolling year up 2.6% to 294,549.

Truck registrations were up 14.7% at 3,577 in the month, rolling year up 25%to 47,848 however van registrations fell 2.5% to 22,287 units in June, rolling year down 0.9% to 246,701.

“The commercial vehicle market stabilised in June, down just 0.4%, after a changeable few months. Truck volumes remained strong, up 14.7% in the month while van numbers dipped 2.5%,” said Paul Everitt, SMMT chief executive. “The trend for the commercial vehicle market is generally stable, but it is far from settled and is likely to follow the course of the UK and European economy in the second half of the year.”
