White has remained the most popular van colour every year for the past 10 years, according to new data uncovered by Direct Line for Business.

It represents 57% (1,852,577) of the registered Light Goods Vehicles on Britain’s roads.

However, silver/aluminium coloured vans are becoming more popular. Just 2% of vans on the road in 2002 were silver/aluminium, now one in ten of the vans on our roads are this colour.

The second most popular colour choice for vans in the past ten years is blue, although its popularity dipped from 14% of all vans in 2002 to 11% in 2011.

The data also reveals that the number of registered LGVs on Britain’s roads has increased by more than 700,000 (28%) in the past 10 years.
