Ashwoods launch hybrid van retro-fit kit

Ashwoods Automotive is offering a retro-fit kit for panel vans from 2011 for all existing hybrid Transit customers. The proprietary system is expected to deliver an instant reduction in fuel consumption by 15-25%, depending on the vehicle’s drive cycle.

Mark Roberts, managing director at Ashwoods Automotive, said: “Our unique retro-fit system offers fleet managers the opportunity to go green without having to invest in new low carbon vehicles.

“The Ashwoods system is designed to meet the needs of fleet operators – fitted in a few hours; it is simple, effective, low cost and low maintenance.”

The technology reduces wear and tear on the brakes and there is no interference with the vehicle’s structure, so vehicle warranties and residual values remain intact.

Launched in 2009, Ashwoods has delivered more than 130 of its hybrid-electric vans, to public and private sector fleets.
