Flexibility and Partnership with Enterprise Flex-E-Rent

A deep understanding of the needs of different businesses means it can provide soltuions quickly and effciently.

Businesses that source commercial vehicles need more than just a supplier to make the most of their fleet they require a business partner.

So, as well as delivering the right vehicle with the right specification to suit the precise budget, Enterprise Flex-E-Rent works with customers at every step of the process to deliver the best solution.

This means analysing transport requirements in more detail to determine precisely how, why, when and where they need to travel and what goods and equipment they need to transport in order to choose the best specification. Then finding, equipping and supplying the best vehicles for the job, managing and funding those vehicles in the most suitable way and finally removing the hassles at the end of contract, all to streamline the relationship.

Every customer is different, and Enterprise combines extensive commercial vehicle knowledge and expertise from a wide range of sectors to deliver the best, most flexible solution to add real and lasting value.

Flexibilty, even to tight timescales

Chester-based technology services and consultancy firm Comvergent recently expanded its van fleet through  Enterprise Flex-E-Rent to support significant business growth. The introduction of new vehicles, which include a range of short wheel base and long wheel base Transits, doubled the size of the company’s fleet.

The company began sourcing vehicles through Enterprise Flex-E-Rent in 2014 in response to customer demand on a particular project where lead times were extremely short. Since then, Enterprise Flex-E-Rent has helped to support growth across the whole business, enabling Comvergent to quickly scale the fleet up or down in line with project demand.

Comvergent finance director Gareth Hughes notes: “Leasing vehicles in this way reduces the amount of time and resource we spend managing, maintaining and purchasing vehicles. The flexibility also enables us to scale our fleet up and down quickly, which is vital in the fast-moving technology environment.”

Getting the right vehicles for the job

Fast-growing infrastructure services provider John Henry Group also partnered with Enterprise Flex-E-Rent for the sole supply of its fleet of more than 500 commercial vehicles.

Partnering with Enterprise enables the group to access vehicles – from standard panel vans and drop-sides to more specialist vehicles for traffic management – at extremely short notice. Getting these new vehicles to site on time is essential to ensuring customer satisfaction and enables John Henry Group to meet increasingly stringent customer KPIs.

In addition, McNicholas Construction Services secured 100 additional VW Caddy Maxi panel vans from Enterprise on a four-year flexible deal to respond to the growth in service requirements for major telecoms provider Virgin Media – McNicholas now operates more than 300 Enterprise vans on flexible rental.

These newest vehicles provide a storage capacity of 4.2m³, a load length of 2.25m, and incorporate extra safety features that have already helped to improve road and driver safety.

This specification includes internal and external cameras, reversing alarms and parking sensors, full telematics and extra internal lighting as well as additional auxiliary power sockets. The vans were converted by CVL Ltd, the Craven Arms vehicle conversion specialists, to a precise McNicholas specification that included specialist racking.

Spencer Ward, head of fleet, plant and insurance services at McNicholas, comments: “We’ve worked with Enterprise Flex-E-Rent for a number of years and needed these new vans to be ready with a very short lead time. It was vital that we maintained use of the exact VW Caddy specification that we have within the rest of our fleet and Enterprise delivered this precisely to ensure a seamless integration of these new vehicles. Enterprise was also particularly helpful working closely and efficiently with our nominated fit-out specialist to ensure the specification, up to the latest safety standards, was delivered on time.”

Providing the right financing solutions

There is a huge range of funding solutions out there and it’s critical to find the one that best fits the business. John Henry Group previously managed its own owned vehicles, but was keen to find other options to help it deliver great service to its partners – and ensure it has access to well-maintained and appropriately equipped vehicles in the right place and at the right time.

To provide a more flexible solution that adapts to meet changing customer requirements, it partnered with Enterprise Flex-Rent to provide vehicles on contract hire as well as both long- and short-term rental. This enables John Henry Group to control both the headline rental figure as well as the whole life cost of operating each vehicle.

Keeping your business running

Managing downtime is a vital part of commercial fleets. With John Henry Group, Enterprise Flex-E-Rent also introduced a preventative maintenance schedule that has minimised employee downtime, and will also manage swift vehicle repairs and like-for like
replacement vehicles where necessary, to drive even further efficiency.

John Henry Group director John Henry comments: “Enterprise’s UK-wide coverage and team of mobile engineers means that everything is sorted out with the minimum of fuss or delay.”

Gareth Hughes of Comvergent adds: “Enterprise Flex–E–Rent always has a depot or a branch office in the right location, which means it can swap out vehicles that have been damaged or may need repair within a matter of hours, nationwide. This means we can ensure we are always able to respond quickly to our customers’ needs.”

All types of vehicle, all types of rental

The fact that Enterprise rents everything from small passenger cars to high specification specialist commercial vehicles means that our engineers understand the detailed requirements for each, and that we can adapt our service to meet very specific  situations.

Comvergent, for example, also rents passenger cars via Enterprise Rent-A-Car to support general business travel, especially for those employees who do not have access to a company vehicle.

Exceptional service, every time

As John Henry puts it, “Clients, employees and competitors have all noticed the difference in our fleet. It’s not just the vehicles Enterprise provides, it’s everything else it does that makes it different. It’s what elevates Enterprise from being just another rental provider to a true mobility partner, which is what we needed.”
