Addison Lee has announced the launch of its new dedicated courier app. Based on its passenger car version the courier app includes integrated satnav and one touch communication with the dedicated courier control centre.

Real time tracking of parcels, transparent pricing and live updates will make the app the new standard for the courier industry, says Addison Lee.

The launch was announced at the Metapack Delivery Conference 2017 by Catherine Faiers, chief operations officer. She said: “Our real-time tracking and communication between customer and control centre will enable our customers to have better control than ever over their deliveries."

The new technology has taken six months to develop and has included customer and driver feedback. The app itself is aimed largely at the one-hour delivery market and supports integration with third party software.

Since 1978, Addison Lee’s courier service has delivered 25 million packages from over 17,000 clients. Among its network, Addison Lee operates over 4,000 cars, 250 vans, 100 motorbikes and 30 bicycles in and around London.

The latest data shows that 98% of Addison Lee’s same-day jobs are delivered within one hour of the customer booking.
