TOM Vehicle Rental has secured a five year extension on its vehicle rental contract with Scottish Water.

The new contract runs until 2020, with an optional 1 year extension thereafter, and covers vehicle hire services, with TOM remaining the sole rental supplier of cars, vans, 4x4s and trucks to Scottish Water and the organisation’s supply partners throughout Scotland.

It allows Scottish Water and their supply partners to book compliant vehicles which meet Scottish Water’s expected standards via one supplier no matter where in the country their booking is required, with TOM co-ordinating bookings in areas where it does not have a local presence by utilising its network of sub-contractors.

The new agreement will see the companies extend what has been a 9 year working partnership to date.

David Love, Director of vehicle rental, said: “These are exciting times for TOM and this is a massive boost for us. We’ve established a strong working partnership with Scottish Water through our focus on customer service and innovation and we look forward to developing this further.

"This contract is widely regarded as one of the most high profile contracts in the Scottish rental industry and we’re delighted to retain it thanks to the hard work and commitment of our entire rental team.”

TOM Vehicle Rental is supplying hire vehicles to Scottish Water and their supply partners from its current network of 5 Scottish locations at Aberdeen, Nairn, Broxburn, Ayr, Kilmarnock and the company’s central 24-acre supersite at Airdrie.

Riki Livingstone, vehicle maintenance manager for Scottish Water added: "Scottish Water provides essential services to customers in a variety of communities the length and breadth of Scotland. We are pleased to continue our partnership with TOM which, building on recent years, we are confident will help us continue to meet the needs of our customers, deliver excellent customer service and ensure that we are trusted to serve Scotland.“
