GAP Hire Solutions is continuing to recruit apprentices across its depot business.

The two roles currently being recruited for are plant mechanic apprenticeship, for those who are more mechanically minded and hire desk operative apprenticeship which is more customer service focused.

The hire desk operations apprenticeship will be delivered in conjunction with CITB and Hire Association Europe and is being run in 6 depots across the UK. Candidates will gain an NVQ Level 2 qualification after 2 years and the apprenticeship will consist of working directly in the depot and completing external training blocks.

Steve Myring, general manager at GAP’s Tewkesbury depot, said: "The assessment centre was very well organised and structured and, as a result, our depot has benefitted with the addition of a very good apprentice.’

Head of HR, Catriona Dunning, added: "Our apprenticeship programme has been in place for a number of years, enabling us to recruit talented apprentices who have gone on to become an integral part of GAP. There is no age restriction on apprenticeships therefore it is a great way of introducing enthusiastic and passionate people into the hire industry. We are very keen on progression at GAP and many of our senior staff have worked their way up through the ranks. Our new apprenticeship programme and assessment centres will offer even more opportunities for people throughout the UK.’"
