Auto Styling Truckman is to move to a new head office with fitting and distribution centre, as part of a £2.6m investment, creating an additional 15 new jobs.

The company, manufacturer and distributor of 4x4 vehicle accessories, has purchased a 52,000 sq. ft. facility on the Blackbrook Valley Industrial Estate in Brierley Hill in the West Midlands after it outgrew its existing nearby headquarters.

The new facility will have a significant impact on its logistical capabilities by increasing its distribution capacity and its vehicle fitting service.

Completed hardtops are either distributed to customers or fitted to vehicles at Auto Styling Truckman.  The company is creating more fitting bays in the new building to deliver further productivity gains.

Auto Styling Truckman’s expansion will allow the company to grow its 63-strong workforce, particularly in sales, marketing and technical design roles.

In addition, the company will be recruiting additional toolmakers that will operate in a new larger tool making facility to develop new a range of new hardtops that will be required in the next 18 months as the major manufacturers, including Toyota, Mitsubishi and Nissan bring out new pick-up truck models.

This is the second significant expansion the company has undertaken in the last 18 months after the company opened a 30,000 sq. ft. hardtop production facility to increase its manufacturing capacity.

Mike Wheeler, managing director of Auto Styling Truckman, said: “The acquisition of a new head office and factory is a major milestone in the growth of Auto Styling Truckman.

“We needed more space to grow our business and provide a better environment for our staff.  We have built this business on delivering excellent customer service and that has been made possible by the brilliant attitude of our people who have embraced our values.  This new building better serves our workforce and therefore will improve the service we deliver to customers.”
