HW Martin Plant has saved more than 73 hours per month across their entire operation since switching to R2C Online’s cloud-based compliance and maintenance management solution.

Part of the HW Martin Group, the vehicle maintenance division creates maintenance packages for HGVs and plant equipment throughout the UK. Recognising a need for simplified and paperless processes, the company approached R2C Online.

HW Martin adopted R2C Online in December 2015, and six months into using the product they have been impressed with the results.

Geoff Kearsley, HW Martin operations and service manager, explained: “We have been able to dramatically streamline our administrative processes. The system creates an entirely paperless solution to manage workshop administration, getting rid of the need for paper copies of service records. We are currently saving over 40 hours a month in administration alone.”

Away from the office, the system has delivered some significant gains to the HW Martin workshop. Technicians now complete inspections on PC terminals located in the workshop, with the completed inspection sheet uploaded directly to the R2C Online portal.

What’s more, with a diverse mix of plant and transport equipment going through their workshop doors, HW Martin completes up to 14 different types of inspections. With R2C Online, each inspection sheet is pre-configured and ready for use exactly as it is needed, simplifying the process significantly, it says.

Kearsley said: “The technicians are very enthusiastic about the product. We have increased workshop productivity by over 33 hours a month and have saved around 600 sheets of paper a month too.”

He continued: “Over and above the productivity gains and admin savings experienced, one of the main benefits we have seen has to be the simplicity of the design. R2C is transparent with simple stages of work progress with all digital inspection work flows now tailored exactly as we need, allowing full and detailed reports of our vehicles.

“Management now has the ability to monitor how quickly our workshop is processing orders and identify potential problem areas without any delays or miscommunication.”
