Packaging provider Holmes Mann has implemented a telematics system across its fleet of HGV delivery vehicles to improve vehicle utilisation and fleet efficiency.

The Masternaut Connect system provides the company with in-depth monitoring, looking at speeding, idling, and mileage.

Since implementation, productivity has improved, with all drivers working as efficiently and safely as possible to ensure duty of care and maximise utilisation.

The system is a vital part of everyday routine, used to locate, track and monitor vehicles so the company knows where assets are at all times. This ensures the best utilisation of vehicles, with Holmes Mann able to plan for when vehicles return to the depot, reload them and send them back out.

This enables the company to get the most out of the fleet every day.

Barny Holmes, managing director of Holmes Mann, said: “Even though we have a relatively small fleet, we’ve found telematics to be extremely beneficial to our business.

"We’ve been able to completely customise our settings to ensure that we are using all the functions that are vital to running our production and transport divisions.

"When running a company and a fleet of vehicles, it’s important to have an up-to-date and user-friendly system and Masternaut provides us with that and more.”
