Staff from Auto Windscreens will be donning their lycra cycling shorts on Friday (July 24) to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.

Teams from the business will swap windscreens for wheels as they compete against each other in the ‘Tour De Chesterfield’, attempting to cycle the same distance covered by Tour de France competitors on the same day – a whopping 138km.

The race will include 50 riders, split into four teams, led by the senior members of the business and will take place using static bikes donated by Simply Gym at the company’s head office in Chesterfield.

The company has accommodated numerous charity events at its Chesterfield-based office, including handling telephone lines for Children In Need earlier this year.

Chris Thornton, managing director of Auto Windscreens, said: “I’m thrilled to be hosting this event for such a worthwhile cause and humbled by the number of staff supporting this rigorous challenge.

“In the UK, one in eight men will get prostate cancer at some point in their lives so I’m very proud to be putting my love of cycling to good use, helping to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK.”
