Express delivery company City Link has joined forces with online comparison site Parcel2Go to launch City Link Click&Send, a new service aimed at low volume and ad hoc users.

An exciting new development for the company, City Link’s range of next day services will now for the first time be available to business customers and consumers without them needing to open an account first.

The launch of the new web-service follows feedback from business customers that they would like to be able to access City Link services without first having to open an account. Consumers also wanted to be able to access the services of the premium business carrier.

All a customer needs to do is select the Click&Send icon on the website, follow the prompts, and select the service required.  Payment can be made by either credit or debit card, and all orders placed will be collected from the customer’s address by a City Link driver.

Tim Brown, sales and marketing director at City Link, said: "The partnership with Parcel2Go means ad hoc customers would reap the benefits of City Link’s experience as a premium express delivery company, coupled with Parcel2Go’s expertise in the consumer and e-commerce markets.

"Customers utilising the new service will have the advantage of being able to enjoy the same quality offering as City Link’s business customers, including its caged secure network, full track and trace facility, and proof of delivery, with a range of next-day and timed services on offer."

He added: “The introduction of Click&Send into our portfolio of services is an exciting new chapter for City Link. The needs of today’s businesses and consumers are converging and evolving. We find we are taking an increasing number of enquiries from potential customers looking to send ad hoc parcels straight away without signing up to an account – both among the business community and among members of the public attracted to the premium brand by their experience receiving parcels delivered by City Link.

“We believe with our experience in high quality, next day parcel delivery, coupled with Parcel2Go’s experience in e-commerce, this new service will go some way to addressing an underserved part of the market.
